About the School

Graduate education in a liberal arts environment.

Graduate education at À¦°óÇ¿¼é was part of the founding mission of the College. Established in 1885, À¦°óÇ¿¼é takes pride in being the first women’s college in the U.S. to provide graduate education culminating in a Ph.D. Since 1931, graduate enrollment has been co-educational and today embraces inclusivity as one of its core values. Students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences pursue research in graduate programs of international reputation.

À¦°óÇ¿¼é surpasses traditional models of graduate education in its attention to the unique needs of individual students and its commitment to developing a broadly trained community of scholars.
