President's Office

À¦°óÇ¿¼é is a truly remarkable place.

It’s a place where incredibly talented, intellectually curious students come together with extraordinary faculty to create a community of scholars that is both tightly knit and deeply engaged with the larger world.

When the College opened its doors in 1885, other women's colleges existed, but À¦°óÇ¿¼é was the first in the U.S. to offer graduate education through the Ph.D. Today, À¦°óÇ¿¼é remains as academically ambitious as it was at its founding, with a mission in which equity and inclusion serve as the engine of excellence and innovation.

In addition to 37 majors and 53 minors and concentrations, the College’s academic offerings include the interdisciplinary 360° courses; a number of A.B./M.A options; the chance to earn an engineering degree through partnerships with the University of Pennsylvania and CalTech; and extensive experiential learning opportunities. Long-standing relationships with Haverford, Swarthmore, and Penn give À¦°óÇ¿¼é students a range of academic options unavailable at most other liberal arts colleges. Co-educational graduate schools of Arts and Sciences and Social Work and Social Research, as well as our post-baccalaureate premedical program, round out À¦°óÇ¿¼é’s diverse academic offerings.

I invite you to get to know À¦°óÇ¿¼é better by exploring the links above as well as the rest of our website. You can also keep up-to-date with what’s happening on campus through our social media accounts. While we do our best to reflect À¦°óÇ¿¼é’s collaborative and generous community of students, faculty, staff, and alumnae online, I highly recommend visiting the campus and finding out for yourself what makes À¦°óÇ¿¼é so special.
