À¦°óÇ¿¼é volunteers have a tremendous impact that strengthens the College and our community, and it can be a wonderful experience for you! Volunteering for À¦°óÇ¿¼é will:

• keep you engaged with the College in a meaningful way.  

• build your professional and personal network. Not only will you maintain relationships with people you know from your time on campus, but you will have the opportunity to meet and get to know people from different generations at À¦°óÇ¿¼é and make new friends.  

• provide continued learning and professional development opportunities. Volunteers build new skills and gain valuable experience that they can add to a resume and bring to their career.  

• be fun and creative! Whether it’s facilitating a book discussion or making lizards for first-year students, À¦°óÇ¿¼é volunteers enjoy spending time together, and bring energy and new ideas to alumnae/i programming.

The Alumnae/i Relations and Development Office at À¦°óÇ¿¼é fosters a community of alumnae/i and friends that reflects the diversity of our lived and shared experiences. À¦°óÇ¿¼é volunteers: 

• celebrate diversity within the À¦°óÇ¿¼é community and network.  

• embrace diverse perspectives to deepen understanding and promote learning.  

• promote an inclusive environment where all feel welcomed and valued.  

• pursue equal access, treatment, and positive experiences for all.  

• share a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.  

À¦°óÇ¿¼é volunteers:

• will instill a sense of welcome and belonging within the À¦°óÇ¿¼é network in such a way that will inspire all community members to engage with the College. 

• support the College, its mission, and its priorities. 

• serve as ambassadors for the College to alumnae/i and other constituents. 

• demonstrate positive engagement with the College.  

• stay informed about activities at the College. 

• abide by the College’s nondiscrimination statement. 

• adhere to the policies, bylaws, and guidelines defined for specific volunteer groups. 

• handle confidential information discreetly and with respect for constituents’ rights to privacy. 

Many volunteers will have access to information about other constituents that is personal and confidential. It is essential that such information be handled with the utmost care and sensitivity. Confidential information:

• must be handled with discretion and respect for the right to privacy.  

• is for College business only, and may not be used for commercial, political, or advocacy solicitations of any kind.  

• may not be shared or duplicated unless authorized by À¦°óÇ¿¼é.  

• will be promptly disposed of or returned to the College when it is no longer needed. Disposal must be secure and unrecoverable (shredded or erased if in electronic format). 

The purpose of this Confidentiality Statement is to protect the privacy of all members of the À¦°óÇ¿¼é community. Some À¦°óÇ¿¼é volunteers have access to information that is confidential and/or privileged and proprietary in nature. À¦°óÇ¿¼é requires that strict confidentiality be maintained with respect to all information obtained by staff and volunteers. 

This includes, but is not limited to, information pertaining to donations of money or gifts, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information. Electronic communications accessible by volunteers shall be treated as confidential documents and shall not be transferred via electronic or any other communication vehicle at any time. Any personal and financial information should not be disclosed or discussed with any third parties without prior written consent from À¦°óÇ¿¼é. 

It is the policy of À¦°óÇ¿¼é that such information must be kept confidential both during and after volunteer service.
